I live in a remote char area in the Nageshwari Upazila of the Kurigram district. One day, I noticed my school friend running an online business, which inspired me to start one myself. I decided to purchase a three-piece dress from her, along with a 10GB data pack, to start my own online business. Through her, I learned about a training program by Dotlines Social Enterprise that focused on e-commerce and digital literacy. Then I also took training. During the training, I gained essential skills, including how to take product photos, increase post reach on Facebook, and communicate effectively with customers to keep them engaged. This helped me understand what people want to buy.
One day, I told my mom, “Ma, I want to sell your handmade dried fish online.” She laughed it off. “Who would buy this?” she asked. I replied, “I know what people are looking for. You just need to make it.”
I posted about it online, and to my surprise, I sold several kilograms. Now, people from outside Kurigram and even from other districts buy from me. Some people in my area still question my choice, asking, “Why leave a job to do something like this?” I responded, “I want to create job opportunities for others as well!” My goal is to help more people become entrepreneurs and self-sufficient, just like I did.”

কুড়িগ্রাম জেলার নাগেশ্বরী উপজেলায় চর এলাকায় আমার বাড়ি। আমার স্কুলের বন্ধুকে দেখসি অনলাইনে ব্যবসা করতে। ওর কাছ থেইকা থ্রিপিস নিয়া ১০ জিবি এমবি কিনা অনলাইনে ব্যবসা শুরু করসি। বন্ধুর কাছেই পত্থম এক ট্রেইনিং এর ব্যাপারে শুনি। । ডটলাইন্স সোশ্যাল এন্টারপ্রাইজ ই-কমার্স আর ডিজিটাল লিটারেসির ওপরে কয়েকদিন নাকি ক্লাস করাইবো। তারপর সেইখান থেইকা আমিও ট্রেইনিং নিলাম। এইখান থেইকা আমি মেলা কিছু শিখসি, কীবা কইরা প্রোডাক্টের ছবি তুলমু, ফেসবুকে কীভাবে পোস্টের রীচ বাড়াইতে হয়, কাস্টমারের সাতে কীবা কইরা কথা কইয়া তাগো ধইরা রাখতে হয় এরম অনেক পরামর্শ পাইসি। ট্রেইনিং কইরা আরও বুদ্ধি আইলো অনেক ব্যবসার ওপরেই মাইনষের চাহিদা।
একদিন মা রে কইলাম “মা তুমি যে হাতে সেমাই বানাও আমি অইডা অনলাইনে বেচমু”,মা হাইসা উড়ায়ে দিলো, “কি কস তুই এইগুলা, এগ্লা মাইনষে কিনব!” আমি কইলাম “মা আমি এ কয়দিনে বুইজা গেসি মাইনষে কি কিনব, তুমি খালি বানায়া দাও।”
অইদিন আমি অনলাইনে পোস্ট দিলাম, কয়েক কেজি বেছি অইলো! অহন কুড়িগ্রাম ছাড়াও অন্য সবডি জেলার মাইনষে আমার থেইকা জিনিস কেনে। এলাকার অনেকে এখনো কয় “চাকরি করা বাদ দিয়া এগুলান কইরা লাভ কী!” আমি কইসি, “আমি এমন কিছু করমু যেন ওগো চাকরির সুযোগ হয়! আমি চাই আমার মতো অনেক মানুষ উদ্যোক্তা হইয়া স্বাবলম্বী হোক।”
